JumpStart assists eligible, low-income families in buying a reliable
car for work, employment training and family needs.
JumpStart is a program of West CAP and is
currently available to families in west central Wisconsin.
How we can help:

Help you purchase a fully inspected, fuel-efficient, recent model car with warranty

Provide $1,500 for a down payment on your car loan

Assist you in obtaining a low-interest loan
   (average $160 monthly payment)

Provide support to help cover major repair costs during your loan

Our experience in helping hundreds of low-income families purchase a reliable car shows that car ownership significantly improves their access to a better job, education, good daycare, medical services and family activities.

Unlike many car purchase programs that rely on low-cost and often unreliable older vehicles, JumpStart believes that ownership of a recent model, fuel-efficient, and reliable car offers the best chance of success for families striving to reach financial self-sufficiency.

Are You Eligible for JumpStart?

Do you have a job and ability to make monthly payments—or have other income (SSI, Child Support, etc)

Have one or more dependent children

Meet basic credit standards or are working to repair your credit

Your income is within program guidelines ( Example: family of three can earn up to $32,300 annually)

How do I Apply?

Call us Toll-Free — 1-800-606-9227 — JumpStart staff can answer
questions and help determine if you meet the program’s minimum
requirements.

Apply On-line – You can start the process by filling out our on-line
JumpStart Credit Application and Privacy Statement. We’ll then
follow-up and work with you one-to-one to evaluate your situation.

JumpStart staff will help assess your credit history, your household
budget, and your transportation needs. After your application is
approved, we will arrange for you to receive a low-interest car loan
from one of our partnering lenders, and help you find the right car
